The Top Ten Highlights of 2012

In our second full year of operation, Reveille Peak Ranch welcomed thousands of mountain bikers, adventure racers, trail runners, SCUBA divers, campers, nature lovers, training group members, BBQ lovers, music fans, event spectators and more.

Here are our top ten highlights of 2012:

  1. RPR was featured in the Austin American-Statesman, in The Daytripper’s column in Texas Highways, CultureMap Austin, KENS-TV, and YNN Austin.
  2. Race partners and promoters Spartan Race, Terra Firma Racing, Rogue Running, Tejas Trails, 5K Foam Fest, Texas High School Mountain Bike League, Camp Gladiator, UltiFit, XTERRA, and more help us make our second year incredible!
  3. The Subaru Trek Mountain Bike team rode at RPR; team member Heather Irmiger called RPR a “dream come true” (and loves our showers); see her blog post here.
  4. New SCUBA programs in our Quarry Lake provided a one-of-a-kind diving experience in a former graphite quarry. Read a review from Oceanic Adventures
  5.  We launched Serve Who Serve, a nonprofit committed to serving our military men and women, and our youth, and welcomed Candyss Bryant as executive director.
  6. The 15th annual Burnet BBQ Fest was held at Reveille Peak Ranch for the first time, with teams serving up some of the best BBQ from around the state. Read a write up from ATX Food News
  7. We debuted our new flow trail at the second annual Tour de Ranch racing weekend in March.
  8. The Camp Gladiator Camping Adventure Weekend brought together trainers and campers for a weekend of fitness and fun, including mountain biking, trail running, a kids’ fishing tournament and skeet shooting.
  9. More than 9,000 racers and spectators came from across Texas and the nation for Spartan Sprint Texas, which returns to RPR on May 18-19, 2013. Read a recap here and REGISTER for 2013 HERE
  10. The Austinot featured RPR in “Heights, Depths & the Rugged In Between at Reveille Peak Ranch” and offered great insights on why and how we do what we do.

What was your best moment at RPR in 2012?

Great blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you advise starting with a free platform
like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are
so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Appreciate it!

  2. When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is
added I get four emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
    Many thanks!
