Join Reveille Peak Ranch and Terra Firma Racing for the second annual Tour de Ranch, an epic weekend featuring races of various disciplines. Each event will demand a different type of riding skill from participants and at the end of the weekend, points will be tallied up for each category (1, 2, and 3). The racers with the lowest amount of points will win the omnium for their division.
Racers can enter all four events, or just the ones that interest them the most! REGISTER HERE
• Pump Track Event – A two-lap timed session on the Reveille Peak Ranch pump track. Racers will be given two laps to get up to speed and then the clock will start and record the time of the third and fourth laps.
The fastest overall time will win $100 and a six-pack of beer!
Classes include: Cat 1 under 35, over 35. Cat 2 under 35, over 35. Cat 3 under 35, over 35.
• Flow Track Event – This event will feature a very minimal amount of pedaling. Racers will start one at a time and sprint down the eight-foot wide flow track in an attempt to set the fastest time. A downhill bike is not required or needed to compete in this event.
The fastest overall time will win $100 and a magnum of wine!
Classes include: Cat 1 under 35, over 35. Cat 2 under 35, over 35. Cat 3 under 35, over 35.
• Super D Event – This event will be much more technical than the flow track and you will have to pedal at times. Again, racers will be started one at a time and sprint downhill in attempt to set the fastest time. A downhill bike not required or needed to compete in this event; a longer travel bike will make the technical sections much easier.
The fastest overall time will win $100 and a gift certificate toward the price of a tattoo, or a henna tattoo if you don’t want a real one!
Classes include: Cat 1 under 35, over 35. Cat 2 under 35, over 35. Cat 3 under 35, over 35.
• Cross Country Event – This event will be run on the regular TMBRA race loop at Reveille Peak Ranch. Each lap will be eight miles long with Cat 1 racers completing three laps, Cat 2 racers doing two laps and Cat 3 racers doing one lap. The XC event will award double points to omnium racers and $200 and champagne to the fastest overall time!
Classes include: Cat 1 under 35, over 35. Cat 2 under 35, over 35. Cat 3 under 35, over 35.
• Family Fun Event – This event is not part of the omnium, but participants will ride on jeep roads at their own pace and climb to the top of Decision Point Peak for stunning views of the Texas Hill Country and then return back downhill towards camp.
More information:
For the omnium, the racer in each category (1,2,3) with the lowest number of points at end of all four events will win the omnium. Points are awarded for each event based upon your finishing time in your category. So it is possible to win your age-based race, but if a rider in another age group within your category has a faster time, he/she will receive a lower point value. The fastest time in each category of each event awards one point; the second fastest time awards two points, and so on.
The cross-country race awards double points. This means that three omnium champions will be awarded after all events have been raced. (A category one omnium champion, a category two omnium champion, and a category three omnium champion). Omnium Awards: You will receive a custom award built from recycled bike parts.
