Bicycle Sport Shop presents the first-ever Reveille Roubaix Bike Tour and Festival at Reveille Peak Ranch on Saturday, September 29, 2012.
The idea for Reveille Roubaix came from the Paris–Roubaix, a one-day professional bicycle road race in northern France. Paris-Roubaix is one of cycling’s oldest races and is renown for its rough terrain and cobblestones.
Reveille Roubaix will trade cobblestones, French countryside and wine and baguettes for beer, barbecue and the gravel trails and winding roads of Burnet County. The Reveille Roubaix Tour is a challenging but untimed ride for cyclists experienced on rough terrain and ready for a fun challenge. Support will be provided for the tour, but riders should be prepared to service their bikes on the route if necessary. Because of the types of roads on the tour, access to the route by our SAG vehicles and mechanics will sometimes be limited. Volunteers will also ride the route on bikes and in trucks to provide support as needed.
Here’s a preview:
Bicycle Sport Shop recommends a mountain bike (29er suggested), cyclocross bike or touring bike, and a 32mm tire.
The Reveille Roubaix Tour features two route options: 28 miles and 50 miles. Both span the towns of Burnet and Lampasas in Central Texas.

Reveille Roubaix includes a family-friendly festival at Reveille Peak Ranch. During the race and tour, friends and family members are invited to explore the ranch and its nature/outdoor fun program for children (perfect for parents who are riding or racing), fishing, live music, standup paddle boarding and an Expo, and food and drinks will be available for purchase. Spectator passes can be purchased on-site and online for $15.
Bicycle Sport Shop suggests that all tour participants attend an orientation and have their bikes inspected before the event. Click here for more info
